Intern at Market Risk Department
July 2016 – August 2016
I was working in the headquarter of the Taishin International Bank located in Taipei city, Taiwan as an intern at the market risk department. During my time there, my main job was to conduct sales check using the program called Murex. Some of my other roles on the daily basis were to made sure the bank's internal use of the foreign exchange rates were the same from the Bloomberg's data and to translate PowerPoint slides from Mandarin Chinese to English.
I learned that collaboration is the main subject issue in a big company. The market risk department is considered as the middle office. We get the sales records and information on exchange rates from the front office. After we finished our job, we need to pass all the information to the back office. Through these multiple steps, there cannot have mistakes on any information or else the back office will be in huge trouble to try to find out what goes wrong.
Zhengda Law Firm
Assistant Intern
May 2014 – August 2014
The Zhengda Law Firm was located in Hsinchu city, Taiwan. While I was there working, my main duty was to provide administrative support by answering phone calls, recording clients' basic information in written form, and serving refreshments to the clients during their visit. Some of my other duty were to create positive experience for the clients by maintaining the cleanliness of the reception area, and to translate documents form English to Chinese.
Even though the assistance intern does not have any important decision role in the company, one is still necessary to finish ones own job fast and appropriately. By creating positive environment and experience for the client, it allows higher chances for the client stay in business with the firm.

Audit Intern
June 2015 – August 2015
I was working as an audit intern at KPMG in Taiwan. The main job function that I was in charged with was to proof read the semi-annual financial reports to compare and confirm worksheet numbers before sending the file to head accountants for review. Some of the other roles that I was in charged with were to help the head accountants draft English emails and to translate documents and contracts from English to Chinese, and vice versa.
After working at KPMG, I learned that rechecking all the financial reports were necessary. In the audit segment of an accounting firm, the main job for us is to make sure that other companies are following the government regulations. If we don't make sure that the numbers are correct then we might be considered to be involved with fraudulence.
